The rules
Written down so that nobody has to argue about them on the day. If something here does not suit your event, ring the manager before you book rather than after.
Music ends at ten. We are in a residential street and we intend to stay.
Load in and load out
Load-in from 8am on the day, or from 6pm the evening before when the date before is free. Everything out by 1am. Anything left is stored for a week and then given away.
Music
Music ends at ten and the last car leaves by midnight. Our sound limiter is set to 95dB at the desk. This is the one rule we have never bent, and it is why the centre is still here.
What may be fixed to the walls
Nothing. Draping hangs from the rigging points, and there are sixteen of them. No nails, no tape on paint, no adhesive on the terrazzo.
Your vendors
Your caterer, your decorator and your sound engineer are welcome. We ask for the list two weeks before, with a phone number for each, and every vendor loads in through the back gate.
Insurance
Vendors bringing rigging, staging or gas cookers show us public liability cover before they load in. Caterers using our kitchen sign for it and leave it as they found it.
Security and parking
Four guards and two parking marshals come with the hall, from setup until the last car leaves. More can be arranged for an event over 600.
Cleaning, and left as found
We clean after you. Left as found means no structural marks, nothing fixed to the walls, and the kitchen empty of your food. The caution deposit covers what is not, and comes back within a week when there is nothing to cover.
Cancelling
Ring the manager first. The booking deposit is discussed case by case, and we would rather move your date than keep your money.
Two different deposits
The booking deposit holds your date and comes off the price of the hall. It is not refundable in the ordinary way, because holding a Saturday for eleven months means turning other families away.
The caution deposit is a separate sum, refundable, taken before the day and returned after the hall is inspected. It is not part of what you pay for the hall.
