About Funmi

I have been a primary school teacher for nine years, all of it in Lagos, mostly in Primary 2 and Primary 5. I still teach full time. This is not a business I am building; it is a small number of children I teach after school because I am good at it and I like it.

I trained at the University of Lagos and I have led maths in two schools. The most useful thing I have ever learned about teaching children who are behind, I learned from a Primary 5 boy who could not read and had become extremely funny in order to hide it.

I teach in your home, never in mine, and always with an adult in the house. If you want to know exactly how I handle that, it is written out on the safety page.

I take twelve weekly pupils. When those places are full I keep a waiting list, and I will tell you honestly how long it is rather than stringing you along.
