A first lesson

The first lesson is free and there is no obligation after it. I would rather find out that I am not the right person for your child before you have paid me anything.

I come to your home. Please be there, for a first lesson I would rather you sat in the room, both so you can see how I work and so your child meets me with you present. I will bring my police character certificate and ID without being asked.

In that hour I work with your child and I do not test them formally. We do some reading and some number work, and I watch how they respond to being stuck, which tells me more than any assessment.

Afterwards I will tell you honestly what I think: what I would work on, roughly how long it would take, and whether I think they need me at all. Sometimes the answer is that the child is fine and the school has worried you unnecessarily.
